Retail remains in the spotlight Tuesday as Borders Group, Inc (BGP) will file on Tuesday. The bookseller has seen strength lately as competitors turned in estimates that beat analyst expectations. More specialty retailers will also make announcements Tuesday, with Casual Male Retail Group, Inc (CMRG), Chicos Fas, Inc (CHS), Tuesday Morning Corp. (TUES) and Staples, Inc (SPLS) all scheduled to file.
Corinthian Colleges, Inc. (COCO), known widely for its for-profit educational institutions across America and Canada, will release Q4 earnings on Tuesday, as will
Medical Equipment giant Medtronic, Inc (MDT) will file its Q1 results on Tuesday. The Company provides innovative products and therapies for use by medical professionals to meet the healthcare needs of their patients. Biotech researcher Myriad Genetics (MYGN) will also release results Tuesday. The Salt Lake City, Utah based company boasts a market cap over $2 billion.
Wednesday:
Dollar Tree, Inc. (DLTR) will impact the markets Wednesday as the discount retailer is scheduled to release its results. Investors are still watching retail closely, looking for signs that consumers are warming up to an economic turnaround. Additional retailers announcing on Wednesday are Guess, Inc. (GES), Jo-Ann Stores, Inc. (JAS), Kirklands, Inc. (KIRK), New York & Co. Inc. (NWY) and Williams Sonoma, Inc. (WSM).
Technology will also be in the spotlight Wednesday as some major players are scheduled to release results. Sun Microsystems (JAVA) will release Q4 results, as will TIVO, Inc (TIVO), maker of digital video recorders and provider of recording services.
Thursday:
American Eagle Outfitters, Inc. (AEO) headlines a mixed group of industries and stocks with major earnings announcements on August 27. Retailers Bebe Stores (BEBE), Conn's, Inc (CONN), Show Carnival (SCVL) and J. Crew Group, Inc. (JCG).
Communications services provider Aruba Networks, Inc (ARUN) is scheduled to release, as is China Telecom Corporation (CHA).
Technology is headlined by Marvell Technology Group, Ltd. (MRVL), which is estimated to show an EPS in the $.14 range.
MICROS Systems, Inc. (MCRS) will release at 4:15 PM EST. The Company designs, manufactures, markets and gives services to enterprise information solutions for the global hospitality and retail industries.
Net17 1 Eups Technologies, Inc (UEPS) is also scheduled to release, and analysists are expecting an EPS of $.34. Another major technology company, Novell, Inc. (NOVL) will release as well.
Solera Holdings, Inc. (SLH), a global provider of software and services to the automobile insurance claims processing industry, will announce its Q4 resilts.
Canadian banking giant Royal Bank of Canada USA (RY) will post Q3 earnings before the market opens.
Friday:
Bank of Novia Scotia USA (BNS) hopes to meet analysts expected $.74 EPS when it files on Friday.
Tiffany & Co (TIF), famous jeweler and specialty retailer, that sells timepieces, sterling silverware, china, crystal, stationery, fragrances and accessories, will release its numbers Friday before the market opens.
Also scheduled to release on Friday is Frontline Ltd. USA (FRO).
