CCS) projects in the United Kingdom is likely to receive vital funding from the European Commission (EC). Reports leaked this week suggest that the proposed 900-megawatt (MW)
coal-fired integrated gas combined-cycle plant in Hatfield, South Yorkshire, owned by Powerfuel Power Limited (Doncaster, England), will receive up to 180 million euros ($265 million) in funding from the EC to build a demonstration CCS plant at the site.
