Fairview Microwave Has introduced a series of SSMA attenuators. These coaxial attenuators feature a frequency range of 0-18 GHZ (26GHZ available if required), 2 watts CW, 100 watts peak, VSWR of 1.3 max, and connectors built in accordance with Mil-PRF-39012 and MIL-G-45204 (BeCu female contacts, 50 microinches minimum Gold plating). Standard off the values are 3, 6, 10, 20, and 30 db; other values can be offered with a 6-8 week lead time.

SSMA connectors have a smaller footprint than SMA connectors, and are popular where size is a concern. Another advantage is that SSMA’s can be built to higher frequencies than SMA’s. The new Fairview Microwave SSMA attenuators should find applications in test systems requiring small size, as well as in any system employing ssma connectors where signal levels need to be adjusted. Functionally ssma’s are very similar to sma’s, just scaled to a smaller size.
