Mirror Image Internet Announces Beta Program for New Global Live Stream Record and Playback Service

Mirror Image® Internet, a leading provider of content delivery solutions powered by a patented global network, today announced a beta program that allows companies to sign up for Mirror Image’s new Live Stream Record and Playback Service. The new service gives companies the flexibility to stream their live events globally, while simultaneously recording it to storage for playback on the desktop, iPhone, iPad, Android, BlackBerry and more.

To view a live event while recording to Mirror Image’s globally distributed, Video On-Demand Storage, the customer sends a live video stream to the Mirror Image Live Stream Record and Playback Service. The live stream is simultaneously recorded to a local disk and replicated across globally distributed, Video On-Demand Storage, while end users view the live event with Mirror Image’s globally load balanced, Live Stream Service.

Within 15 minutes after the live event completes, the recorded stream is available on Mirror Image’s globally distributed, Video On-Demand Storage, and ready for delivery to video players and devices with the company’s globally balanced, Video On-Demand Service.

Mirror Image is the premier Content Delivery Network (CDN) for delivering live and on-demand video/audio streaming, video/audio/text chat, recording and more. The company’s global network brings H.264 content to any screen – the desktop, mobile and the living room – to all popular media platforms including:

  • Adobe Flash
  • Apple iOS: iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch
  • Microsoft Silverlight
  • Apple QuickTime
  • Android, BlackBerry and other 3GPP platforms
  • Set-top boxes and more

“Companies have requested that we give them the ability to record their live events and make the recordings available for viewing on any screen type–anywhere in the world,” said James G. Hart, vice president of sales and marketing for Mirror Image. “We are very pleased to offer this new global service that allows our customers to gain more online viewers, as well as build business value around their video assets.”

Companies that subscribe to the Live Stream Record and Playback Service during the beta period will be eligible for a special rate that will continue after the beta period ends and remain in effect for the duration of their initial contract.
